How to make a PayNow tuition invoice
- Your details: your name or tuition business, and the PayNow number parents pay — your mobile number, or your UEN if you're registered.
- Who it's for: the parent's name and the student.
- What you're charging: each line is a number of lessons (or hours) × your rate. Add materials or a registration fee as extra lines.
- Download the invoice as an image and send it on WhatsApp, or copy the ready-made message.
Why put a PayNow QR on your invoice?
Parents in Singapore already pay by PayNow. A QR with the amount and reference filled in means no typing your number, no wrong amounts, and you can match each payment to the invoice by its reference.
The QR follows the national SGQR / PayNow standard, so it works with DBS PayLah!, POSB, OCBC, UOB and every other Singapore banking app. PayNow is free for both of you — no card fees.
What to put on a tuition invoice
- An invoice number (e.g. INV-0012) — it's also the PayNow reference, so you know who paid.
- The month and the lesson dates or number of lessons, with your rate.
- Make-up lessons and cancellations, so parents can see exactly what they're paying for. See our make-up lesson policy guide.
- A due date — a week is usual.

Will the PayNow QR work with every bank?

Can I use my UEN instead of my mobile number?
Yes. Choose UEN if your tuition business is registered and parents pay the business.
Why does the parent see my name when they scan?
Their bank shows the name registered to your PayNow number before they pay — that's how they know it's really you. The name you type on the invoice is just for the invoice.
How do I send it to parents?
Click Download image and send the picture on WhatsApp, or Copy message for a ready-made text with the amount and your PayNow number. On a phone, the image opens your share menu.
